The entire cross-section of Jharkhand’s and particularly Ranchi’s Classical Music lovers are most welcome to the show. The timing has been experimentally adopted this year to ease out practical difficulties of the patrons coming from distant areas. Paid refreshment stalls would also be arranged for the audience. We produce CDs of the programme and a superior souvenir publication containing good articles and blessings from stalwarts. Details about Gharowa, past achievements, related media coverage and further information about artistes of the oncoming event are available at our website: www.gharowa.blogspot.comThe immediate goal of GHAROWA is to train a large number of young talents, honour as many senior classical artists as possible and hold regular monthly programmes to encourage local and in-house talents, apart from organising the grand annual concert to expose the local audience to the best of contemporary Indian Classical Music. The final goal is to achieve a state of bliss where good culture replaces bad practices of the society; to attain the mental, intellectual and spiritual heights irrespective of religion, through classical music, to bring the frustrated and rudderless children of today under the umbrella of our great tradition with its manifold benefits. While senior Indian Classical artistes of Ranchi like Prashanta Thakur and Shyama Prasad Niyogi, renowned painters and sculptors Haren and Sharmila Thakur are active motivators, the organization enjoys a very wide support base spanning language, profession, age and sex. Many prominent public figures are happy to note the wholesome attitude and activities of Gharowa, and co-operate as members, patrons and advisers. While the cultural response is overwhelming and people’s expectations from Gharowa are increasing, the finance front always keeps us on our toes. In earlier times, kings and noblemen used to patronize Classical Music, Gharowa now looks forward to the new kings- the business and industrial houses, because the members’ earnest contributions fall far short of the target fund required to put up a good show.We earnestly look forward to your co-operation in the noble cause.Your support is our only strength.with best regards and thanking you in anticipation, Sd/=(Nil Ratan Ghosh), Secretary, Gharowa
